INFORMATION FOR ALL PRESENTERS
Be sure to register for the meeting and reserve your hotel room
All program participants must register for the SROA 2019 Annual Meeting; there is a special faculty registration rate. We are sorry, but the SROA does not reimburse program participants for travel and per diem expenses.
We will email you a promotional code to redeem the reduced rate. If you have not received your code, please email Melissa Castan at email@example.com as soon as practical.
Rules for Preparation
A total time of 60 minutes is allotted for the session. Total presentation time should not exceed 45 minutes with 15 minutes for questions. It is imperative that your presentation run the full 60-minutes, otherwise your session may not be eligible for CE credits.
SROA does not print any presenter slides for attendees. Instead, SROA offers to post, as a PDF file, your slides in a password-protected area of the SROA website so registrants can print them at home, bring them to your presentation and follow along and make notes as you speak. If you wish to have your slides available on the Web in advance of your talk, you must submit the materials by September 13, 2019 by logging into the My SROA Conference section of the SROA meeting website. You, are welcome to print and bring your own handouts for distribution your audience. You should bring 150 copies.
Instruction for Preparation of Written Material
Disclosure - Conflict of Interest
ALL presenters participating in CE activities are required to state whether any commercial or financial relationships might directly or indirectly relate to the subject of their presentations. Whether or not such a relationship exists, presenters are required to make a statement in writing before their presentation, as well as announcing it at the time of their presentation. The intent of this policy is not to prevent a speaker with a financial relationship from making a presentation rather SROA seeks transparency. Any relationship should be identified openly so that participants may form their own judgment about the presentation with the full disclosure of the facts.
The second slide of your presentation, the slide immediately following your title slide, MUST be a disclaimer about any actual or perceived conflict of interest. If you are giving multiple presentations, the slide must be included in each presentation.
To help you meet this requirement, SROA has a PowerPoint template. The template consists of three slides, but you will use only one slide - slide 2 containing a specific disclosure summary if you have anything to disclose, or slide 3 if you have nothing to disclose. The first slide contains instructions. You may use your own background design for the disclosure slide.
If you do not show one of these slides, a member of the Program Committee (or your session moderator) will interrupt your presentation to be sure you verbally disclose your status. We prefer that this not be necessary.
Audio/Visual Needs & Technical Assistance
Each meeting room will be set up with a podium, one microphone, a Windows laptop (no mouse), and projector. Any additional needs should be requested from Melissa Castan at firstname.lastname@example.org by August 1, 2019. SROA cannot guarantee that all requests will be satisfied.
