2007 Annual Meeting Overview

FINAL PROGRAM

Dear SROA Colleague,

It is my pleasure and privilege to invite you to the 24th Annual Meeting of the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators. Each year since 1983, this has been a unique meeting dedicated to exploring a variety of issues relating to radiation oncology. This year's theme, "Putting on the Ritz", promises to build on the successes of the previous meetings.

This year's meeting includes a distinctive blend of invited speakers, workshops and plenary sessions. Ann Jillian, a three-time Emmy Nominee and Golden Globe award winning actress, singer and motivational speaker will bring her positive message about the hopeful side of breast cancer as the keynote speaker. She'll be followed by outstanding general sessions from Julia Rowland, PhD, the Director of NCI's Office of Cancer Survivorship; Pam Arlotto, an expert in the area of HIM/EMR; W. Kenneth Davis, Jr., an Attorney at Law who will address the topic of Joint Ventures; and Dave Jensen, The President of S3 Inc., a Senior Lecturer of Executive Education from Emory University. The popular Billing Panel also returns this year as a general session. A variety of workshops will address several timely issues — IMRT, billing compliance, Brachytherapy, Proton Therapy as well as leadership skill building and much more.

Of course, you don't want to miss the Quality Luncheon. And plan to dance the night away with Swingtown — an eleven-piece band with a brass section that will blow you away at the President's Ball on Tuesday evening.

General Sessions and workshops will be held all day on Sunday, Tuesday and now Wednesday. Monday will be an open day to visit the exhibits or to enjoy all that beautiful Pasadena has to offer. There also will be time to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. Nothing can match the value of members sharing ideas, successes and failures as we move into the next century.

The 2007 Annual Meeting will be held from October 27th to the 31st at the Ritz-Carlton, Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena, California. The Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa is nestled in a picturesque Pasadena neighborhood. Set amid beautifully landscaped gardens, such as the Japanese and Horseshoe Gardens, this historic resort offers numerous amenities. Our headquarters or host hotel has memberships to 5 local golf courses, 3 tennis courts, fine dining restaurants, live music nightly at the lounge, a state of the art health and fitness center, which offer various exercise classes, a fully equipped spa, and a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool.

Make your plans now to join the SROA in Pasadena, California — "The city that feels like a village". Located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, Pasadena is just 20 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles in sunny Southern California. Pasadena has a variety of excellent choices available in the selection of restaurants, world-class museums, shopping, entertainment and recreational activities.

For all attendees, the 2007 Annual meeting promises to be yet another in a series of stimulating, diverse and enjoyable SROA programs. We hope to see you October 27-31 in Pasadena, California, for the 2007 Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators annual meeting.
